The new Man Candles collection at Yankee Candles includes “Riding Mower,” with the scent of freshly cut grass; “2×4,” inspired by freshly planed wood and sawdust; “First Down,” featuring fragrances of orange, patchouli, vetiver and leather; and “Man Town,” a combination of spices, woods and musk. The large jar candle, above, is $27.99.

While I grew up in small-town Kentucky I’ve always been fascinated with the cosmopolitan world of high fashion. On the other hand, I love a bargain and the thrill of shopping for just the right piece.
