Hi – i am just trying to sprad the word about a new festival in central KY. Don’t know if you’re interested or could help get teh message out – but thought i’d check. Our first festival was last fall and we had a great turn out for a first time event. You can see some of the arts & crafts on the “artisans” page – several women are Etsy folk as well. Thanks for your time!

The festival sounds like a great idea. What’s the deadline to participate?

I am from Somerset, and as most folks know there is little shopping here. I am looking for classes for a Singer Futuro CE-100 Embroidery and sewing machine. I have found none locally. I have found knitting and crocheting classes with the Extension office on Thursday. If you know of or have heard of any classes please let me know. I have spent a lot of time trying to locate them, but not being from Lexington, it has been hard. Any help will be appreciated. Love this sight.

Hi Harriett! There is no deadline – although i have to get the numbers to the community center by May 1 for set up. Spaces are assigned as forms and fees come in. We have about 5 more tent spaces outside and ten more booths inside. So send soon if yr interested! Also if you have photos of yr work, sent them on too and we’ll add it to the slideshow on our site! :) You can samples of other work there too – check the Artisans page when you visit.

    Thanks! LaDonna

Lexington’s first Urban Market showcasing local women businesses and entrepreneurs will be held the 2nd Saturday of each month, beginning December 12, 2009, just in time for Christmas.
The Market is designed like the European markets featuring; flowers, local food, jewelry, vintage clothing, home decor and more.
We are still seeking vendors! The Market is located at Lorillard Lofts right past the Lexington Cemetery.
Hope you can help get the word out so everyone can enjoy this new market and most importantly support current and future businesses by women.
