The Lexington Rescue Mission’s Bazaar and Gathering Place will celebrate its grand opening Saturday.
The Bazaar, at 1720 Bryan Avenue, carries works from local artists including Melissa Oesch, who creates reusable journals from recycled materials (the above photo shows a design made from a recycled coffee bag, $25), and Kathy Werking, owner of SoapWerks bath and body products. All proceeds will go to the artists and to help the homeless in Lexington.
Doors open at 10 a.m.; a fashion show featuring repurposed clothing from the Rescue Mission’s Thrift Store starts at 1 p.m,; and live music by Warren Byrom, Palisades and Oh My Me begins at 2. Call (859) 381-9600 for more info or look for The Bazaar – A Unique Gathering Place on Facebook.
