Balm for 2- and 4-legged bodies
Erin Taydus of Harrodsburg worked as a mechanical engineer for Corning Glass and Lexmark before launching Sassa Bella Body Care featuring handcrafted soaps and body products for people, horses and dogs.
Taydus makes her products with natural ingredients that include organic coconut oil and essential oils of geranium, rose petals, spearmint and lemongrass.
Her husband, Matthew, is a farrier and inspired Taydus to create the equine collection, which includes Antifungal Hoof Serum and Skin Spray. For dogs, Soothing Skin Spray comforts hot spots and reduces itching.
You’ll find a selection of Sassa Bella products for people at several Central Kentucky locations including Good Foods Market & Café in Lexington. For the complete collection, shop at Etsy.com/shop/sassabellabodycare or Sassabella

While I grew up in small-town Kentucky I’ve always been fascinated with the cosmopolitan world of high fashion. On the other hand, I love a bargain and the thrill of shopping for just the right piece.
I have a degree in English from the University of Kentucky, and since 2002 I’ve written a column for the Lexington Herald-Leader about shopping, beauty and fashion. During that time I’ve interviewed everyone from designers to boutique owners about trends and style. And I’m still forever searching for the next big sale.
