Louisville native Lisa Griffin has lived in New York for the past three years, working as a model, at a beauty company and for a small handbag designer.
Earlier this month, Griffin, 24, launched an online boutique called In Dramatic Fashion Shop, selling limited-edition collections from emerging New York designers, as well as providing an inside look at designing and manufacturing in New York.
The first exclusive collection, available now, features handmade hats produced with Derby and Keeneland in mind by New York milliner à la tête. Each piece is individually numbered and signed by designer Jessie Abraham.
Abraham, who studied fashion at the Parson’s School of Design and millinery at the Fashion Institute of Technology, blocks and drapes the hats by hand in her studio and then adds accents such as peacock feathers, ribbons and veils.
The classic cloche pictured from New York milliner à la tête ($280) accented with flowers and feather is among the hat designs available exclusively at In Dramatic Fashion Shop, an online store created by Louisville native Lisa Griffin.
