Art Nouveau jewelry worth a drive
Exquisite Art Nouveau jewelry will be on display at the Cincinnati Art Museum from Oct. 31 through Jan. 17. “Imperishable Beauty,” featuring more than 100 works by major designers and jewelers of the era including René Lalique, Henri Vever, Phillippe Wolfers and Tiffany & Co., was organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. This French brooch (pictured above, courtesy of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston) from around 1900, features opal and pearl, gold and enamel.
Works that inspired these artists, including textiles from William Morris, posters by Alphonse Mucha and other items from the art museum’s permanent collection, will also be featured.
