Fashion and fun at Runway for the Cure
Runway for the Cure, presented by Skirt! magazine and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Lexington affiliate, is 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Coldstream Research Center, 1500 Bull Lea Road off Newtown Pike just past New Circle.
The fashion-themed fund-raiser will feature a breast-cancer survivors’ fashion show, men-in-skirts extravaganza and runway styles from area boutiques. Partygoers can enjoy an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and silent and live auctions

While I grew up in small-town Kentucky I’ve always been fascinated with the cosmopolitan world of high fashion. On the other hand, I love a bargain and the thrill of shopping for just the right piece.
I have a degree in English from the University of Kentucky, and since 2002 I’ve written a column for the Lexington Herald-Leader about shopping, beauty and fashion.
